The presence of aluminum fins greatly increases the heat exchange surface area, usually 15-20 times the surface area of the bare tube. This design increases the heat exchange efficiency per unit area by about 40-60%.
Light Weight
The density of aluminum is about 2.7 g/cm³, which is only about 30% of copper (8.9 g/cm³) and 65% lighter than stainless steel (7.9 g/cm³). Using aluminum fin tubes in large air-conditioning systems can reduce the weight of the entire system by 20-30% and reduce the load on the building structure.
Corrosion Resistance
A dense oxide film will naturally form on the aluminum surface. This oxide film can effectively prevent the internal metal from being further oxidized and corroded. Therefore, under normal atmospheric conditions, the corrosion rate of aluminum fin tubes is only 0.0001 mm/year, which is much lower than that of steel fin tubes.
